Fantastic Voyage Story Idea

For the Fantastic Voyage project I have chosen to look at pollination, while planning to focus from the point of view of one of the pollens. I thought I could make it more exciting if setting it up as a short adventure from a flower's anther to the another flower's stigma. It will be probably focus on just the journey between the two, setting up the opportunity to create giant landscapes for the pollen to travel across. As the pollen is tiny, everything will be massive and look different because of scale. I can imagine blades of grass being skyscrapers that they will travel through and over, while the details on flower's leaves look much more prominent and imaginative. I have done the formative and factual research into the process of pollination, although I am considering showing it in a more playful and adventurous way. I have the idea of tiny pollen characters, setting up for the mission like an army squad/battalion. As they predict strong winds that day, they all gather at the evacuation point ready for this day that they've been waiting for. They know that a lot of them won't make it to a flower's stigma, so it is every pollen grain for himself once airborne. I am thinking of one pollen in particular being slightly smaller and more rounded in shape than all of the others, who appear bulkier, stronger and more confident. A lot of the pollens can perform battle crys and smear dirt on themselves as war paint, they could also use tiny carved mustard shells as their helmets too, with small blades of grass for the strap attached to it. They may also have yellow stubble or shaved heads, to show the stereotypical colours of pollen. When they are all airborne once the wind takes them off, they are all heading in different speeds and styles. When nearly reaching the flower, the other pollens can all start to decline due to their weight from being slightly bigger than the smaller, rounder pollen. As this pollen is the lightest, it blows further in the wind and is the one that manages to land on the flower's stigma, after the triumphant journey. While showing this simple story of pollination, it can also carry the message to children to believe in their selves and to show them that everyone is good at something. Considering pollination is meant to be taught to 11/12 year olds who would normally be starting secondary school at this age, it can be an aspiring message to them as they might feel small and out of place in a new school. Ultimately, it is meant to show pollination and also communicate a positive message to the audience.
