Perspectives - Word definitions

The Enlightenment Project: An attempt to explain human behaviour and answer all questions to explain reasons and mysteries.

Modernity: The norms, expectations and conditions of being modern.

Structuralism: A method of analysis to determine reasoning for human's decisions, feelings, perceptions and actions, focusing on their relationship as well as an overarching system.

Ahistorical: A lack of historical context or perspective.

Irreducible: Something that cannot be simplified anymore, being as essential and understood as possible.

Objective: Determining a solution without including personal opinions or views.

Universal: Something that applies to everyone in the world.

Definitive: A conclusion or agreement settled professionally and told with authority.

Poststructuralism: A scepticism towards structuralism and critique of the idea that it is irreducible.

Reflexivity: A means of self reference in research and conclusion, allowing personal perception to affect the finalised "truth."

The unreliable narrator: A character that tells a story the reader, although the information they pass on to them is made of lies or misconception.
