While still in the early stages of my design process, I am creating silhouettes from combined shapes to try and help me consider the form and anatomy of my characters. To start, I've done five silhouettes of the alien character and five silhouettes of the scientist character. They're quite basic at the moment but I feel that it is helping me to look at different body shapes while noticing what forms convey good senses of the characters.
